Hopkins Brothers LP&D and other local developers are laying the groundwork now for what we are calling The Fresh Market / Graves Mill District, a place where innovative new businesses will thrive alongside upscale lifestyle boutiques, health conscious retailers, restaurants and grocers, luxury condos and townhomes, and entertainment venues such microbreweries and outdoor amphitheaters.

and Comment Below
• Is Lynchburg ready for an alternative to the Wards Road retail and restaurant experience?
• Do you see the emergence of The Fresh Market/Graves Mill District as complimenting or competing with our Downtown Historic District?
First, I find it humorous that you would refer to this new business corridor as “The Fresh Market” district, you might want to find a better name. But aside from that, my main question is this: What types of businesses are you courting for these new areas? Are you planning on attracting employers that will readily train and employ the many unemployed and underemployed residents of the city? Or are these going to be the type of white collar businesses that will simply hire from other parts of the State or Country and provide nothing for the people of this city? An inquiring mind would like to know.
